Sedan to Chalons-en-Champagne
That was a beautiful day on a bicycle - gentle undulations in peaceful, sunny countryside.

We left Sedan castle via the cobbles which the bum wasn’t thrilled about but it looked spectacular against the blue sky.
The photos speak for themselves about how gorgeous this route was, with hardly any traffic.

Even the coffee stop had a friendly, happy dog to cuddle.

And lunch had baguettes and patisserie… have I mentioned how much I love riding in France?!
I zoomed along with the help of a tailwind so arrived in Chalons with plenty of time to have a wander around the city centre. It has a cathedral but unusually the most beautiful building was another church, Notre-Dame-en-Vaux which is part of UNESCO World Heritage.
The cathedral wasn’t exactly shabby with again a reminder of the legacy of war.
I fancied a change from group dining so went to a rather fabulous charcuterie and headed to a park by the river for a picnic in the evening sun, the ducks enjoyed it too.
