Rest day in Como
I was knackered last night and was tempted to skip the group dinner but as it was the end of Stage 1 and three new riders were joining the tour, I thought I ought to be sociable. Of course dinner was far too slow and I managed a bruschetta and risotto before abandoning without a main course. This obviously resulted in a grumbling tummy early wake up call and I was down for breakfast at 7am. This was fortunate as the hotel has a ridiculous Covid system of serving one person at a time from the buffet - it is going to be interesting tomorrow morning when the entire group tries to get breakfast at the same time!

I was soon hungry again and spotted a McD - time for a second brekkie!
The lake is so beautiful and I had a delightful long stroll in the sun before it got too hot.

I popped into a fabulous Carrefour on the way back to the hotel (I am not usually a fan of supermarkets but this was exceptional) and stocked up with a range of goodies to keep the tummy happy for the rest of the day. My afternoon consisted of reading, napping and eating - a perfect rest day!
My plan this morning was to take the funicular to a viewpoint looking down on the lake but it was closed until 1pm. I think I can manage without another mountain top view so had a happy wander around the beautiful town instead.
